New 2024 population data is out for municipalities is out today! These are estimates based back to the Census and they do include temporary workers, students etc. based on July 1st of a given year.

As a region 15,000 more people were here on July 1, 2024 compared to 2023. If we keep this pace of growth, the region will surpass 500,000 people by Canada 2025! As it is budget season, if we are talking transit, affordability and much more, how does that play out when the City is adding 11,000 per year.

2025 will likely see lower rates of growth in Windsor and Leamington as additional temporary worker and student restrictions show up in the data. But if the region digs deep, we can still make half a million soon!

If you want to see how Essex County did compared to the rest of the province here is a regional snapshot
