Our Topics of Conversation
1) We begin all of our conversations by letting you tell your story. Who are you, what did you do for a living before politics, your pathway to becoming an elected official etc.
2) As Councillor in Aylmer Ontario for those that don’t know where is it? Who lives there? What do they do for a living? What issues end up in your inbox or you hear at the door? You are an at large councillor would you be better off with a ward?
3) Aylmer is a part Elgin County, how does it fit into the broader County? What is the perception of the broader county from Alymer?
4) How do you fit into SW Ontario? Why should someone in Windsor, or Woodstock care about what is happening in Aylmer?
Digging in a little
5) Earlier in March council passed a new strategic plan, what is Alymer trying to accomplish over the next few years? I saw a few interesting things like Boundary adjustments, 4 day work week review. What are you looking forward too?
6) As a smaller community that got some notoriety during COVIDd for mask protests. It has seemed to have also carried over into other “culture hotspots” – Pride flags stolen, diversity murals defaced. How have the perceived divisions in the community evolved over the past couple of years?
7) How is the housing crisis impacting Alymer? Close to larger urban centres and obviously the eventual St Thomas Battery, growth seems to be on the horizon? What kind of growth?.
8) What is something you are looking forward to in 2024? Could be an event or project or policy.
